Role

The Senior Pastor of Reach Church cultivates a dynamic and intentional relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrates a vibrant and consistent reliance on the Holy Spirit, and promotes the authority and infallibility of Scripture. He mentors the staff and elders with a passion for the church and the surrounding community. He is a skilled, engaging, and authentic communicator who focuses on accurate expository preaching with practical application and a relational style. He must understand and embody Reach Church’s mission, vision, and statement of faith.

 

Responsibilities

Preaching

  • Prepare and deliver dynamic, biblically sound, and engaging exegetical sermons that incorporate culture and context with practical applications
  • Engage and cultivate a team of internal and external preachers and teachers  
  • Develop an annual preaching calendar, utilizing the preaching team

Leadership

  • Mentor and develop staff and elders, providing spiritual guidance, coaching, and growth opportunities 
  • Develop and foster healthy, dynamic relationships with the staff
  • Collaborate with the Executive Pastor to understand the operational needs of Reach Church
  • Promote and support the ministries of Reach Church, including Central School of Ministry, Upper Room Christian Counseling, and the Reach Church Foundation

Vision

  • Seek the Lord’s guidance in developing a vision for life and ministry 
  • Communicate the vision and encourage others to embody and live it out 
  • Develop and implement processes and practices to carry out the vision of Reach Church  

Pastoral 

  • Demonstrate the heart of a shepherd by actively guiding, loving, and nurturing our community
  • Speak the truth in love, willing to have difficult conversations for the benefit of others and the glory of God
  • Practice spiritual disciplines regularly, including prayer, Bible reading, tithing, fasting, and confession
  • Rely on and surrender to the Holy Spirit in all things

 

Qualifications 

  • Relevant education, MDiv preferred (or equivalent)
  • 10-plus years of ministry experience in a growing, active church, preferably with a weekly attendance of 500 or more
  • Experience in leading a dynamic staff and executive-level leaders

 

Compensation 

  • Salary commensurate with education and experience

About Reach Church

Reach Church is a vibrant, Bible-centered, growing church north of Omaha, Nebraska, with 109 salvations and 93 baptisms in 2024 and 811 salvations in the past eight years. Full of young families with thriving children’s and youth programs and five-generation attendance, this church is in awe of how God has used them to significantly impact Blair, Washington County, and the surrounding communities.

Our mission, which is to be a community where people encounter Jesus and their lives are changed forever, is the core of every ministry. This mission is embodied by the 17 staff members and more than 800 active volunteers who serve the church and our community through expansive outreach. Reach has an average Sunday attendance of 720 in person and 391 online, 179 at Reach Kids Midweek, and 181 at Reach YTH – all of which are Bible- and gospel-focused – along with active life groups, in-depth Bible studies, and engaging ministry events.

Beyond traditional ministries, Reach Church supports and oversees the Upper Room Counseling Center, which provides quality Christian counseling by licensed mental health professionals on-site. Reach is also the home of the Central School of Ministry, a three-year program that trains and equips ministry leaders and pastors.
