Position Overview:

Hope Academy at House of Hope Orlando is seeking dedicated and compassionate High School Tutors for Math, English/Grammar, Reading, and Science. Tutors will work closely with students to provide academic support, reinforce subject material, and help build confidence in learning. The ideal candidates will create a positive and engaging learning environment while integrating faith-based principles that align with the mission of House of Hope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small group tutoring sessions in assigned subject areas.
  • Assist students with understanding concepts, completing assignments, and preparing for assessments.
  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective study skills.
  • Encourage a growth mindset and academic confidence in students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and needs.
  • Collaborate with the School Administrator and other staff to track student progress and address academic challenges.
  • Maintain a Christ-centered approach in tutoring, encouraging students in their faith and personal growth.
  • Promote a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Uphold the values and mission of House of Hope Orlando in all interactions with students.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or working toward completion) in Education, Math, English, Science, or a related field.
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of subject content and ability to teach high school-level curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to connect with and mentor students in a supportive and encouraging manner.
  • A heart for ministry and a commitment to integrating Christian faith into education.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Must pass a background check and adhere to House of Hope policies.

Work Schedule & Compensation:

  • Part-time position with flexible scheduling based on student needs.
  • On-site tutoring at Hope Academy, House of Hope Orlando.
  • Compensation based on experience and qualifications.
