Job Title: Campus Pastor
Reports to: Leadership Team
Start Date: To be determined by availability of final candidate
Context: Gulf Community Church was formed in November 2015 by a core group of local families in Naples, Florida. They saw the need for a different kind of church – one that unchurched people love to attend. Having attended or volunteered at North Point Community Church in Atlanta, Georgia previously, the group was immediately attracted to North Point’s model and committed to its mission: to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. The Naples group banded together with the idea of launching a North Point Partner Church. We leased a movie theater, formed a guest services team, and started to grow in attendance and finances. We’re seeking a Campus Pastor to lead our church in our vision, mission, and strategy.
Short Job Description/Purpose Statement: To provide leadership and direction to the mission of Gulf Community Church; to inspire, empower, and equip people to personally engage in our mission, vision, and strategy; to create an irresistible church in and for our community.
Overall Responsibilities:
• As Campus Pastor, be the primary lead
visionary/communicator (not the primary Sunday worship
communicator).
• Effectively cast vision of the Gulf Community Church
strategy to volunteers, church attenders, and the Naples
community.
• Develop the organizational structures and systems to
execute on the church mission and strategy.
• Oversee the orchestration and evaluation of church and
family ministry environments (see the North Point

resources, and accountability with a commitment to create
a culture of excellence.
• Ensure wise stewardship in financial arenas (fundraising,
giving, and spending).
• Network with influencers in the Naples community for
overall spiritual impact.
• Oversee the Pastoral Care needs of the church by
connecting to and referring to community resources for
counseling and support.
• Coordinate with North Point Partners to ensure
organizational direction, alignment, and communication.
• Personally model our mission, strategy, values, and ministry
practices while continuously pursuing personal growth: spiritually, emotionally, socially, mentally, professionally and in leadership development.
Qualifications:
• Christ-like character, ministry leadership competencies, and
cultural fit within the Naples and Gulf Community Church
demographic.
• Master of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary or
school of theology.
• A sense of God’s call to serve at Gulf Community Church.
• Training and experience in leading/managing people
including: emotional intelligence, verbal/written communication, networking, managing systems/processes, strategic planning, organization, vision casting, professionalism, problem solving, and delegation.
• A heart for reaching the unchurched with a focus on family ministries as the primary strategy.
• An entrepreneurial drive with a pioneering spirit to establish
Gulf Community Church through the normal stages of
organizational development.
• Humility to lead when not in charge with a servant
leadership perspective.
• Ability to balance results and relationships
• Self-awareness to know the appropriate work-life balance.
Our dream at Gulf Community Church is to create a different kind of church for Naples. A church that is committed to leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ; a church that is passionate about creating environments so helpful and so engaging that even our friends who don’t like church love to attend; a church where it is safe to attend even before you’re sure about your faith. If you’re new to church or just coming back to faith, the environments at Gulf Community Church were created with you in mind! We hope you’ll come by on Sunday to experience it for yourself.
