St. John's Evangelical Protestant Church is Cullman's oldest church, seeking to minister in the name of the Lord Jesus to contemporary needs. Belonging to the Evangelical Association of Reformed and Congregational Christian Churches (www.evangelicalassociation.org), St. John's practices congregational polity and affirms the authority of Scripture for Christian faith and practice. There is an openness to implement ancient and traditional practices in contemporary ways. A spiritual home for many community leaders, St. John's has much talent to be harnessed for Kingdom work. The membership of St. John's hails from all parts of the community and seeks to be a vibrant witness to all of Cullman County.
Cullman is located an hour north of Birmingham and an hour south of Huntsville and is a growing community that cherishes its small-town atmosphere. The city boasts of a wonderful school system, while several opportunities for Christian education exist as well. Home to Wallace State Community College, several universities and Beeson Divinity School are also within commuting distance.
