We are Rolling Plains United Methodist Church located in the South Zanesville area of South-eastern Ohio. Our Church experience is a casual “come as you are” atmosphere where People Matter to us! Our focus is on Jesus, The Word of God preached in practical life changing ways in a spirit of grace and truth. We believe in the Power of Prayer as the lifeblood to all we do. We pray break through prayers for the Holy Spirit to move in our church and to be a part of a great awakening of God in our community and world.
Our Passionate Worship is offered in multiple styles—both a blended form at 8:15 AM and a contemporary praise band at 9:45 and 11 AM on Sunday mornings. God has called our church to Practical Service that meets the needs of people in our church, local community and out into the world. We do this by leading people to serve in a ministry in the church and a mission outside the church. Bethel Community Center is a nonprofit in the heart of the most impoverished area of Zanesville and is our local missional outpost. We have fulltime missionaries in Spain and in Haiti. There are regular partnerships with Maysville Schools, Habitat for Humanity, Haiti, Guatemala, Liberia, Vietnam (where we are currently building two churches), Mexico and other seasonal mission experiences.
Our purpose in all of this is to lead people to Personal Transformation in a relationship with Jesus Christ. We desire to invite people to The Journey (our discipleship pathway) of life with Christ, to Come as they are, Connect with others, Grow in God’s Word and prayer, and Go in Jesus name to serve others.
We are a large multi-staffed congregation with a single Lead Team that governs, a staff that leads, and laity that are empowered to serve. We have recently created an Executive Pastor of Discipleship position to collaborate with our Lead Pastor and Operations Manager to lead our staff and ministry leaders, mobilize our laity, champion our discipleship pathway, and organize our missional initiatives. We have a great team of staff and ministry leaders who desire to use their gifts and are ready for fresh leadership in these areas. Our prayer is to find a Spiritual Shepard with experience in leading staff, a passion for discipleship, a heart for mission, and proven fruit in mobilizing laity.
