St. John's Church is a growing, multi-generational family of faith committed to our mission to love God and love others in a way that brings HOPE to the world. We hold three worship services on Sundays, two modern-contemporary (9:15 & 10:45am) and one traditional (8:00am). Sermons are relevant to life and Biblically based, incorporating personal testimonies and dramatic elements on a regular basis. Average Sunday morning attendance (adults+kids) has grown consistently over the last six years from under 90 in 2011 to 200 today (and peaking higher for special events and holidays). Our community is growing around us, and we are uniquely prepared and excited to be used by God to reach more people for His Kingdom in the next season of ministry.
We have a strong emphasis on living out our faith through serving others, both abroad (ex. Kenya) and locally (ex. Safe Families, foster care, etc.).
St. John’s is part of the newer, evangelical and mission-focused denomination Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (lcmc.net), and is a charter member of a grassroots movement of churches in Walworth County across denominational lines called Refresh (refreshchurches.com). We are a group of people from a variety of church (and non-church) backgrounds, so applicants need not be Lutheran to apply.
